Edgar Small ( University of Delaware, USA)

Dr. Edgar Small serves as an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering and the Director of the Construction Engineering and Management program at the University of Delaware in the United States. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Buffalo in New York and has over 25 years of construction and infrastructure management experience with owners, engineers and contractors. This experience has been obtained through design and resident engineering with consulting firms, commercial general contracting, government service and program management, and academics both in the US and the Middle East. Through this background and experience, Dr. Small has developed primary research interests in construction process efficiency, construction productivity improvement, mega-project development, and sustainability in the construction environment. Research interests further extend throughout the project life-cycle with a focus on collaborative, interdisciplinary research to coupling design, construction and maintenance/operations for infrastructure systems.

Žiga Turk (University of Ljubljana, Slovenia)

Dr. Žiga Turk (1962) is a Professor in Construction Informatics and Documentation at the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering at the University of Ljubljana. Originally a structural engineer M.Sc. in computer science. His academic interests include construction informatics, construction information technology, computer integrated construction, theoretical basis of process and product modelling and BIM, engineering communication and the related aspects of technology and philosophy. He studies modern forms of learning, knowledge transfer, internet science and responsible researching. He published over 40 articles in scientific journals and delivered 20 keynote and invited lectures. He had an important role in eight EU framework projects and coordinated two major ones. He is the founding editor of international scientific journal ITcon. He is member of editorial board of three other international scientific journals. In his public duties he was minister in the government of Slovenia, Secretary General of the Reflection Group on the Future of Europe at the European Council, carried out an interim evaluation of Framework 7 Programme and chaired a High Level Group about the future of European academic networking (GEANT).

Marton Takacs (Budapest University of Technology and Economics)

takacs_martonMarton Takacs received his PhD degree in 2007 at Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME). He is currently associate professor at Department of Manufacturing Science and Engineering of BME. Between 2007-2015 he worked at Szent István University’s Ybl Miklós Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering, where he was appointed as college professor in 2011, and served as vice dean from 2010-2014. He was the Head of Department of Building Materials between 2009-2012. His main scientific interest and research activity focus on modern building materials, concrete technology, manufacturing technology, micro- and nanotechnology. He prepared numerous expert’s report about failure of building materials. He is the author and co-author of 70 journal article and conference papers.

Adel Francis (École de technologie supérieure, ETS, Quebec University)

l_dunaiAdel Francis is an associate Professor, in the Construction Engineering Department, École de technologie supérieure, ETS, Quebec University. He holds a BS degree in civil engineering (1982), a Master degree in Project management (1992) and a PhD degree in Project Planning and computer management (2004). He is also a Fellow of the Canadian Society of Civil engineer. His primary research interests are focused on visualization, optimization and graphical modeling of project planning. The last decade has been primarily dedicated to the study, analysis, development and implementation of a Chronographic modeling approach for construction operation planning. He has also more than 25 years of relevant industrial relevant experience in the field of construction engineering. Within these years, he worked for public services, consulting engineering groups and general contractor corporations.
